The RX100 has a 1″ sensor, so it’s smaller than APS-C, but it has a lot more sensor area than the 1/1.7″ found in most premium compacts and gobs more than the 1/2.3″ found in typical compacts.
It’s way, way thinner than a NEX, though, and is actually pocketable....
